Dachau concentration camp first opened on March 22nd 1933

An estimated 206,000 were imprisoned here and in the Dachau sub-camp system

Of those an estimated 41,500 perished, many in the final months of the war

The camp was liberated by U.S forces on April 29th 1945

It stood longer than any other Nazi concentration camp
